Charcoal has been used by humans for many generations. It is used to clean and purify water, reduce stomach bloating, cleanse skin and teeth; but its true value is in its ability to remove toxins.
Black Bamboo Charcoal Toothpaste – REVIEW
The only difference between the activated charcoal and the regular one, is that activated charcoal has been created purely for medicinal purposes.
To ‘activate’, regular charcoal is heated with gas, that causes the it to expand. That creates a porous surface, which has a therapeutic effect by trapping toxins – its binding properties make it capable of absorbing ~1000x its own weight. Also, carbon is 100% alkaline.
This toothpaste is infused with activated bamboo charcoal, which whitens teeth and prevents cavities.
As soon as I got it (around 4 PM), but I could not resist to have an unscheduled sanitary break, and see what it’s like.
The toothpaste tastes a bit like Vanilla, and has a fresh aftertaste. There is no aggressive minty elements that numb your mouth. I ate not too long after I brushed my teeth, and the food did not taste weird, as it normally would with a regular paste.
This toothpaste is not really black, if you look at it closely it is more dark green; but it may appear black, depending on the angle and the lighting.
The toothpaste does not produce too much foam, and it does not feel chemical.
According to the manufacturer, the shelf live is 3 years; and the expiry date on the tube indicates it can be used up until 2018.
I really like this paste – it tastes nice, cleans and whitens teeth and does not have an aggressive aftertaste.
