6 Pro-Grade Gadgets That Are Cheaper Than Retail

Online shopping is not for everyone, but those who ‘get’ it can save a lot of money by buying their things from various online retailers, some of which charge for the same things less than others do.

AliExpress tends to be on the cheaper side, but for many people a deterrent has been that you have to wait for a long time to receive their products. And while it can’t compare to Amazon Prime, the packages shipped with E-Packet usually arrive within 10 to 14 days, which I consider a reasonable time frame. In this post we will see 12 things that you can get from AliExpress, some of which come with free and pretty fast E-Packet shipping. Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that all of them will have it – they did at the time when the article was written, but it appears that sellers often adjust the shipping options, which I have no control over.

There are 35 countries that can take advantage of this service: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France (mainland postal codes starting with 01-95), Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain (not available for all cities), Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand (currently in a trial run), Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom (including Isle Of Man), United States (including APO/FPO adresses).

Complete and updated list of countries can be seen on epacketexpress.com.

***NOTE: Some sellers change shipping methods in their listings. If a method other than e-Packet is offered, you can pick it from the shipping option drop-down menu. In those cases it may cost a few dollars extra.***

6 Electronic Gadgets from AliExpress: MUCH CHEAPER than retail

ZHIYUN SmoothQ CAMERA STABILIZER

Everyone nowadays (possibly including myself) wants to be a video blogger. If you are familiar with Gimbal stabilizers, you know how expensive they are. Granted that this Zhiyun stabilizer can’t be called cheap per se, it is definitely less than half the price of the Gimbal.

A 3-axis – an important distinction as this makes the footage more smooth and natural – stabilizer will make the footage a lot more smooth. It will even out turns and reduce bumps, so you can better film your swollen face with your shaky arms after a night of heavy drinking.

SUPERLUX HD681 HEADPHONES

Superlux HD681 headphones are one of the highest-quality headphones in this price range on AliExpress. These are semi open-back over-ear headphones. They can play sounds as sensitive as 10 dB, and frequencies as low as 10 hz.

Superlux is basically the Grado of the cheap cans, they’re not mainstream but for the people, who value the quality of the sound and are poor, I can’t think of a better option than these. And if you want them even faster, you can get them on Amazon – just to mention they are marked as Amazon’s Choice for the impressive price-quality ratio, just as indicated in the raving reviews left on both sites.

MECHANICAL KEYBOARD

Mechanical keyboards aren’t something that everyone will love/understand the point of, but I have a feeling that some of you nerds might enjoy it.

I have been using one since this summer, and, man, do I love it! The sound it makes alone is worth it, and the feeling of the precision sends shivers down my spine each time I use it.

Definitely not overselling it here, ask any IT guy or research this online: they’re (the keyboards, not the IT guys) truly amazing. Mechanical keys better handle several keys pressed at once, you can replace the broken keys individually, and they also last much longer. Mechanical keyboards tend to wear much slower, and it is significantly more difficult for the keys to get stuck.

3200DPI GAMING MOUSE

An expensive gaming mouse can run as high as $200. But unless you are a hardcore or a pro gamer, or if your parents don’t own a factory that generates the amount of wealth equivalent to the GDP of a South-American country, it probably doesn’t make a lot of sense to blow that much on a mouse. Instead I present to you a gaming mouse with a 3200DPI precision and 6 programmable buttons.

WIRELESS KEYBOARD

When I have my laptop hooked up to the TV I had to occasionally stand up and press play because Netflix sometimes randomly stops when I binge-watch episodes of Archer. But thanks to this device I can keep laying in the bed without moving.

This thing comes with a USB bluetooth receiver, that has a working range of approximately 8 meters, or around 25 feet. It requires 2 AAA batteries, which will make touchpad signal notchy at the end of their lifespan. I’ve had mine for over a year now, which, in case you are wondering, works just as new.

TDS WATER TESTER

A TDS, which stands for Total Dissolved Solids, water tester is a device that is used to determine the quality of water and to see if it needs further purification. It can test for three kinds of impurities, and I’m just reading it off the items description here, soluble salts – like calcium and magnesium, heavy metal ions like chromium, zinc and lead, and ionic organic compounds. If this stuff sounds like something you don’t want in your drinking water, get one of these things.
