If you want a new smartphone and don't want to spend $1,200 on the new Google Pixel 3, look no further. Xiaomi have released their Pocophone F1 in September of 2018, and everyone went nuts overboard with it. What makes it so special? Is it the specs, the price, or maybe the features? Its ability to record 4K 30FPS video? Let's see.

And all this for only $300. Intrigued yet?
Back in the day, when OnePlus did all this, they have charged $500 for their flagship model, so we can easily call Pocophone F1 a flagship “flagship killer”. They basically copied (almost, but more on that later) all the necessary high-end features, and cut corners where it will not be as noticeable. But wait, there is more!
Xiaomi have went even more experimental, and decided to add a nowadays completely optional AUX jack! Yes, you read it correctly: you can keep using your good old earphones/headphones without any additional adapters, and the phone did not need to be noticeably larger to accomplish this. Revolutionary!
Pocophone F1 weak moments
Of course, there are a few things that distinguish F1 from all the other high-end phones. They are:
- No NFC (you can't use it with Android Pay)
- IPS display (not OLED, displays are expensive and a decision was made to cut the costs here)
- No IP/IPx rating, which meants the phone is not waterproof or splash-resistant
- Plastic back cover (but who really cares?)
If you can deal with these issues, congratulations: you can save a ton of money by using this new Xiaomi beast! We think that for this price this is a very, very sweet offering.
